FINAL: CHIEFS 30 https://www.thechiefsfanshop.com/Eric-Berry-Jersey , BRONCOS 23Fourth quarterLast play: Dustin Colquitt punts 17 yards to Winchester at the Denver 15 and it’s downed by Dorian O’Daniel. Game over. Anthony Sherman trips up after getting on the end of the kickoff, but still gains three yards. Chris Conley called for a false start on the next play, Chiefs given a 5 yard penalty. Kareem Hunt runs for a combined 10 yards, but the drive ends in a Chiefs punt. Injury update:10 plays, 46 yards over 2:12 ends in a field goal by Brandon McManus that’s good. Broncos 23, Chiefs 30.The Chiefs come out and have a similar drive, ending with a QB sack on Mahomes by Dymonte Thomas and a punt by Colquitt. Dee Ford sacks Case Keenum on the opening play at the Denver 12 and the Broncos don’t make it far. They end in a punt. Erving picks up another foul on the next play for Offensive Holding, but it’s declined. Chiefs punt. Mahomes gets sacked by Von Miller and Bradley CHubb on the next opening play for a loss of 6 yards. His next throw to Tyreek Hill is incomplete and Cam Erving and Derek Wolfe are penalized on the play for Uncessesary Roughness. The Broncos drive ends with Case Keenum getting intercepted by Kendall Fuller at the KC 45Phillip Lindsay picks up 16 yards on his first two runs. On his second, Anthony Hitchens, who’s been battling injury all game, goes down and is attended to by trainers on the field. He exits the field slowly and hunched over. The Chiefs gain 19 yards on their next drive, but it ends in a punt. Kansas City recovered nicely, though. Dee Ford gets the strip-sack on Case Keenum at the KC 46 and Breeland Speaks recovers the fumble to give the ball back to the Chiefs offense. Chiefs next drive ended before it could even get started. After finding Sammy Watkins at the KC 36 for 11 yards, he was intercepted by Justin Simmons on a pass deep left that was intended for Travis Kelce.Third quarterTOUCHDOWN, BRONCOS. On 4th & goal, Case Keenum finds Jeff Heuerman for a 4 yard touchdown. Broncos 20, Chiefs 30.50 combined passing yards and 24 combined rush yards get Denver within striking distance of the end zone. Kareem Hunt showcases his hurdling abilities yet again in a 23 yard touchdown to lift the Chiefs to 30 points. Broncos 14 Spencer Ware Jersey , Chiefs 30.Devontae Booker goes straight up the middle for 14 yards, but a -10 yard QB sack by Chris Jones on the next play ends the drive with a Broncos punt. Denver picks up another penalty after Phillip Lindsay gets rushes for 10 yards, Connor McGovern gets called for an Illegal Block Above the Waist. 4 yards, enforced at the Denver 10. Adam Jones returns the kick for 20 yards. On the next play, Phillip Lindsay rushes up the middle for 23 yards before getting stopped by Orlando Scandrick. Denver picks up a penalty on the play for Offensive Holding. 9 yards, enforced at the Denver 19. TOUCHDOWN, CHIEFS! Kansas City ends the drive with a 10-yard touchdown pass from Mahomes to Sammy Watkins — making it Watkins’ second on the day! Broncos 14, Chiefs 23.Tyreek Hill, Sammy Watkins and Kareem Hunt combine for 54 yards to put KC at the Denver 34. A false start penalty on Demetrius Harris is followed by a huge throw from Mahomes to Kelce for 18 yards to put KC at the 21. On the same play, a Roughing the Passer call is made on Shaquil Barrett.On the next play, Mahomes finds Kelce for 6 yards and Bradley Chubb gets a 5 yard penalty for Illegal Use of Hands that’s enforced at the KC 27. Tremon Smith returns the kick for 36 yards before being pushed outside at the KC 34. On and Frank Zombo picks up a penalty for Offensive Holding that’s enforced at the KC 27. Second quarterTOUCHDOWN, BRONCOS. Following an incomplete and a throw away, Keenum finds Tim Patrick for a quick 24 yard touchdown. Broncos 14, Chiefs 16.With under a minute left in the half, Case Keenum finds Courtland Sutton for a massive 42 yards to put them at the KC 24. A look at the play: TOUCHDOWN, CHIEFS! Mahomes finds Sammy Watkins who runs it in to extend Kansas City’s lead. Broncos 7, Chiefs 16.The Chiefs open the drive strong as Mahomes connects with three different Chiefs players for a combined 58 yards over four passes. Case Keenum gets sacked again, this time by Dee Ford at their 40 for a 12 yard loss. Keenum fumbles, but Denver recovers and ends the drive with a punt. QB SACK. Breeland Speaks gets to Case Keenum at the Denver 38 for an 11 yard loss that sets them back to their 38. Butker kicks 64 yards to the Denver 1 and Adam Jones returns it for 25 yards. Keenum finds Demaryius Thomas for 9 yards on the first play and then a big 14 yard gain from Phillip Lindsay to put Denver 1st and 10 at their 49. TOUCHDOWN Demarcus Robinson Color Rush Jersey , CHIEFS! After finding Tyreek Hill for 40 yards at the Denver 14 to put the Chiefs in striking distance, Mahomes hits Travis Kelce for a 9-yard TD to give the Chiefs their first lead of the game. Broncos 7, Chiefs 10.Tanoh Kpassagnon helps Kansas City keep the Broncos out with a tackle on Emmanuel Sanders that forces the Broncos to punt. Phillip Lindsay rushes up the middle for 21 yards, putting them at the KC 23, however, Denver’s Connor McGovern gets called for offensive holding to set the Broncos back 10 yards. Denver opens the second quarter with a short pass from Case Keenum to Emmanuel Sanders for 22 yards. Penalty on Sanders called for Offensive Pass Interference, enforced at KC 45. Another penalty for the Chiefs called on Steven Nelson for Defensive Holding.First quarterButker kicks 70 yards and it’s returned by Adam Jones for 24 yards. Denver ends the first quarter with 25 yards gained after three smart plays. Mahomes finds Chad Henne for 9 yards, Kareem Hunt rushes for 6 and then Mahomes connects on a pistol to Tyreek Hill for 22 yards, putting Kansas City at the Denver 3. A false start on Chris Conley sets Chiefs back 5 yards and, as the Chiefs look to get in the end zone on the next play, Travis Kelce drops a pass from Mahomes just outside. Kareem Hunt goes next, running outside back for 4 yards before being tackled at the Denver 4. Chiefs end the drive with no touchdown and Harrison Butker makes the field goal to put the Chiefs on the board. Broncos 7, Chiefs 3.Kareem Hunt picks up a penalty for an Illegal Crackback block, which sets the Chiefs back 15 yards to the 37 facing 1st and 25. On the next play, at 2nd and 19, Denver’s Bradley Chubb is called for Defensive Pass Interference and Kansas City gets first down. Tremon Smith returns the kick and picks up 33 yards. On the next play, Mahomes finds Travis Kelce for 15 yards at the Denver 48.The first big strike of the game was a 49-yard throw from Case Keenum to Emmanuel Sanders. Denver ended its drive with a touchdown, a 1-yard run by Phillip Linsday. Broncos 7, Chiefs 0.The Broncos and Chiefs started the game with back-to-back three-and-outs.
