Saints vs. Chargers 2018: The View From Section 123 The New Orleans Saints travelled out to my backyard of Los Angeles Benjamin Watson Jersey Stitched , California this past week, having taken part in joint practices with the Los Angeles Chargers in Costa Mesa, and culminating with a preseason game in the Chargers’ surrogate home in Carson.I’ve had the great fortune to see the Saints play four times in Southern California since the 2016 season after they hadn't been to the region for a very long time.I’ve given recaps for those games at San Diego (Week 4) ‘16, at Los Angeles (preseason) ‘17, and at Los Angeles (Week 12) ‘17.This will be the last time the Saints play at StubHub Center, as the Chargers are set to move into their massive new Inglewood venue with the Rams in 2020.I’ll miss seeing the Saints in this quaint venue, enjoying the chance to get up close with the team in ways that could not be afforded in usual NFL stadiums and will most certainly be impossible in LA’s upcoming mega-stadium.Much like seeing your favorite musical act in a tiny club, rather than the local arena, this was a unique change of scenery. Here we go with my view from Section 123 in the second row of the end zone near the Saints sideline***StubHub Center, the NFL’s smallest venue by a wide margin, prepares to host Who Dat Nation - SoCal Chapter.***Head Coach Sean Payton about to take advantage of a pregame photo op.***The Saints’ running backs corps.Who stays, who goes?***The Dynamic Duo of the Saints backfield, both playing in a game together for what will likely be the last time until Week 5.***Cameron Meredith snagging some passes in pregame warmups.***Benjamin Watson follows Cam in line to make a grab.***Drew Brees may seem like a lock to make this team, JT Barrett, not so much.***The 2017 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, Alvin Kamara, is primed to make another splash in 2018.***The defensive backfield had long been the Saints most glaring weakness. Now the talent in the secondary is quite impressive, led by the 2017 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, Marshon Lattimore.***The best leg in the business is currently one of the longest-tenured Saints Youth Kurt Coleman Jersey , and he’s back for another season in Black and Gold.***The pregame huddle led by Head Cheermeister, Drew Brees.***Here’s the breakout star of last year’s preseason game in Los Angeles, Al-Quadin Muhammad.***Here, Muhammad is joined by First-round pick, Marcus Davenport, in his first game action of this preseason.***Cam Jordan proves an impressive sight to behold up close.***Sheldon Rankins certainly ranks 98 out of 100 on the “Big Boy” scale.***Expectations will be undoubtedly high for this pair in 2018.Add in Ken Crawley to complete the Saints’ “No Fly Zone”.***Second-year standout, Marcus Williams has been supremely motivated since he left the field in Minnesota this past January. He was focused yet remained quite loose in warmups.***The team prepares for kickoff.***Chris Banjo focuses on the game at hand.***It’s time for the opening kickoff!***No “View From” post is complete without the “Cariello Special” cheerleader shot.***Tom Savage with the handoff to Jonathan Williams.***The diminutive venue was full of Saints fans. Who Dat! Keep an eye on these New Orleans players against the Panthers."The New Orleans Saints come into the final game of the 2018 regular season with nothing to play for in the standings. They won the NFC South weeks ago Kurt Coleman Jersey Stitched , and clinched the NFC's number one seed and home field through the playoffs with their victory over Pittsburgh last week. A number of the Saints starters are not expected to play, or receive little playing time, when New Orleans hosts NFC South rival Carolina to end their regular season. https://www.canalstreetchronicles.com/2018/12/27/18154681/whats-at-stake-when-the-new-orleans-saints-host-the-carolina-panthers-in-the-season-finale While a few of the team's stars are on the brink of some significant records, this game will be mostly about avoiding injuries and allowing key players to go into the postseason with fresh legs. There are a few New Orleans players that will receive a significant opportunity in this game to make an impression on coaches for the future, or perhaps earn additional playing time this postseason. Here are five Saints players that fans should be watching closely as the team hopes to notch a franchise season record 14th victory against the Panthers. Tre'Quan SmithBob Donnan-USA TODAY SportsThe rookie 3rd round pick Smith has shown gamebreaking potential, exhibiting both the ability to make a play down the field as well as the skills to make a tough catch in traffic. He has 397 receiving yards, third on the team, on 25 receptions while catching 4 touchdowns. He's had two spectacular games, catching 3 passes for 111 yards against Washington with two long scores and 10 receptions for 157 yards and a touchdown against Philadelphia. Unfortunately for New Orleans, Smith has only 12 catches for 129 yards and one score in the team's other 13 games outside of those two, including six games without a single reception. The 6'2, 210-lb. third round pick from Central Florida has the hands and athleticism to be an NFL star, but has struggled with consistency, something that has plagued the entire receiving corps outside of Thomas. Veteran Ted Ginn Jr. returned to the New Orleans lineup last week after a ten game injury absence. With Ginn's playoff experience and knowledge of the Saints offense, Smith may need a standout performance against Carolina to keep earning a significant number of reps in base packages during the postseason. Keith Kirkwood Photo by Richard Rodriguez/Getty ImagesThe team is high on Kirkwood, an undrafted rookie from Temple. He started the year on the practice squad, but has been active for the last seven games, and has carved out a bigger role in the team's passing attack. Kirkwood has caught 13 passes for 209 yards and two touchdowns in his 7 games of action, and seems to have earned the trust of his Hall of Fame quarterback quickly. He has good size (6'3 Youth Patrick Robinson Jersey , 210) with underrated athleticism and sharp route running skills. With Michael Thomas unlikely to play much against the Panthers, Kirkwood may take on some of Thomas' route responsibilities. The Saints passing game is predicated on success through intermediate routes, and Kirkwood's skillset could be essential for what Drew Brees and the passing game are able to accomplish in the playoffs. Will ClappPhoto by Chris Graythen/Getty ImagesClapp has gotten much more playing time in recent weeks, due to some injuries along the team's offensive line. More suited to an interior role than at tackle, he stepped into a guard spot when Andrus Peat was moved out to left tackle. Clapp has given the team some solid play, but was a bit uneven at times. With different injuries suffered to every starter along the Saints line over the last month, Clapp must show that he can hold up against a physical front seven like Carolina's to give the coaching staff confidence in their depth here going into the playoffs. Taysom Hill Jim Dedmon-USA TODAY SportsHill has been a novelty for Saints coach Sean Payton; a Swiss Army knife for both the New Orleans special teams and offense. He has 34 rush attempts for 185 yards and a touchdown, six special teams tackles, averaged 24.9 yards on 14 kickoff returns, a momentum changing punt block against Tampa Bay, and has completed 3 of 7 pass attempts for 64 yards. Hill probably won't receive many snaps at quarterback in this game, as Teddy Bridgewater is expected to get the bulk of reps behind center. We should, however, expect Payton to use Hill in a variety of different offensive packages that we haven't seen to date. (Bold Prediction: Taysom Hill throws a touchdown pass to Bridgewater in this game)Teddy Bridgewater Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY SportsBridgewater was acquired for a 3rd round draft choice in the upcoming draft to secure the number two quarterback spot. He has seen snaps in mop-up duty only this year, but is expected to get the majority of the snaps this Sunday. Bridgewater is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent at year's end, so this will essentially be a job audition for him. His performance in this game, even with a limited squad around him, may dictate whether the Saints attempt to sign him to a longterm deal as a possible successor to Drew Brees. Photo by Grant Halverson/Getty ImagesThe New Orleans defense may rest certain players as well, but this unit has shown solid depth most of the season Patrick Robinson Jersey Stitched , particularly along the defensive line. The Saints come into the finale with the league's number one ranked run defense, and having forced 19 turnovers over the last nine games. They've allowed five of their last six opponents to less than 20 points, and have been one of the more disruptive defenses in the league over the last half of the year. They now face a Panthers team who is down to their 3rd string quarterback, and one who has lost seven consecutive games. Carolina still does have one of the NFL's most versatile weapons in Christian McCaffrey, who has 1,080 yards rushing with 7 touchdowns, and 106 receptions for 845 yards and another six scores. The Saints defense already held McCaffrey to just 53 yards rushing, and 120 scrimmage yards, two weeks ago, and will design their game plan around containing him again. The New Orleans defense has bottled up the likes of McCaffrey, Saquon Barkley, Todd Gurley, and Ezekiel Elliott this season, while shoring up early season struggles against the pass. This Panthers offense isn't nearly as talented as some of the others that New Orleans could face in the playoffs, but even if some stars like Cam Jordan are limited, this game could preview what we could expect from the Saints defense during their championship chase.

An injury update on the Cowboys rookie running back."WhiteFanposts Fanshots Sections Dallas Cowboys NewsDallas Cowboys NewsReport: Mike Weber won’t have surgery Womens Demarcus Lawrence Jersey , but a scope is possible in the futureNew,25commentsAn injury update on the Cowboys rookie running back.CDTShareTweetShareShareReport: Mike Weber won’t have surgery, but a scope is possible in the futureJoe Maiorana-USA TODAY SportsThe Dallas Cowboys held their rookie minicamp last week and one of the results from it was a question regarding running back Mike Weber and his knee.Monday had some confusion as to whether Weber did indeed practice on Sunday or not, and with time we got more clarity on the situation on Tuesday. ESPN’s Todd Archer reported that Weber does not need any surgery as of now, but a scope is possible in the future.Hearing knee injuries connected to any player is never good, and a running back is especially problematic. Weber is only a rookie so there is plenty of time to reach his potential Leighton Vander Esch Jersey White , and while the Cowboys also drafted Tony Pollard, Weber is expected to be involved in the backfield behind Ezekiel Elliott. It’s still only the middle of May so if Weber does need a scope the timing of this isn’t critical by any means. It looks as if the Cowboys are on top of this and doing their best to manage the situation. That’s all you can do at this point. When the day after Week 17 rolled around this season, the NFL world was left with eight vacancies at head coaching spots. That’s a quarter of the league. We’re not even two weeks removed from that day and six of the eight spots have been filled.New Head Coaches in 2019:Arizona Cardinals, Kliff KingsburyCleveland Browns, Freddie KitchensDenver Broncos, Vic FangioGreen Bay Packers Dak Prescott Jersey White , Matt LaFleurNew York Jets, Adam GaseTampa Bay Buccaneers, Bruce AriansAs of the time of this writing there are only two openings left in the NFL, the Cincinnati Bengals and Miami Dolphins. Cowboys secondary coach and passing game coordinator (plus de facto defensive coordinator) Kris Richard interviewed with three teams and the Dolphins were among them. He could still wind up there in 2019.There are people speculating that Richard will indeed end up in MiamiThe Cowboys are still playing football this season (thankfully) which means that Kris Richard hasn’t had the free time that other coaches have. While he’s done interviews, his priority is obviously what’s going on in the playoffs but that doesn’t mean gears haven’t been in motion. While nothing is official as of the time of this writing on Wednesday, a report surfaced that many people in league circles do believe that Richard will join the Dolphins as their head coach. That would be great for him and we’d all be happy for his individual success Womens Emmitt Smith Jersey , but he’d be sorely missed in Dallas. The Dolphins are also thought to be heavily interested in Brian Flores of the New England Patriots, another defensive-minded coach. This is an interesting move as most of the league is gravitating towards offensive minds but someone is going to have to stop those offenses. Maybe? Go figure. For now we’re simply in a game of wait and see when it comes to Kris Richard. If the Miami Dolphins hire somebody that isn’t him then odds jump to essentially 100% that he’ll stay with the Cowboys next season. So go ahead and do that, Dolphins. Hire someone. Anyone. Please.

Colts Cast: Examining Colts depth chart; Week 1 discussion with Cincy Jungle The 2018 NFL season is finally underway. The season starts tonight Youth Clayton Geathers Jersey , but the Indianapolis Colts host the Cincinnati Bengals in the season opener. On today’s show we do a quick review of each position on the Colts roster, and examine the depth chart as it currently stands to see where any strengths are and identify any oddities. The Colts unofficial depth charts can be strange to look at as they present it, so I give my presumptions of subpackage starters and some positional expectations for these groups as well. Also today for the second half of the show, I joined the guys at Cincy Jungle on their show (Bengals Insider) to talk with them about the Colts-Bengals Week 1 matchup. WWe talk about the Colts offensive line and how their matchup against the Bengals pass rush could turn out, which might just be the matchup to watch this week. We also touch on the Colts defense, and how the youth of the group is quite exciting when looking at potential, but we also look at the other side of that coin with the lack of experience being a possible struggle at times for this unit.Additionally, I touch on my expectations for Andrew Luck and his road back to the huddle and attempt to project the Colts seasonal success, as well as their chance to come away from Week 1 with a win.You can also watch their live stream from last night if you’d like to see the whole show. Please subscribe, rate and review the show anywhere you listen to podcasts.Colts Cast Links: Apple Podcasts | Stitcher | BlogTalkRadio | SB Colts Cast YT Channel A look at the most impactful football free agents of all time:1. DE Reggie White, 1993 Green Bay Packers.White stunned the NFL by choosing Green Bay after a whirlwind tour in the first offseason of unfettered free agency. His arrival at age 32 signaled a new era for the Packers Womens Andrew Luck Jersey , who hadn’t found much success since the Vince Lombardi teams of the 1960s. White teamed with Brett Favre for a long run of success that included a win over the Patriots in Super Bowl 31. He was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006.2. QB Peyton Manning, 2012 Denver Broncos.Manning was coming off neck fusion surgery that sidelined him in 2011 when the Colts released him so they could turn their team over to rookie Andrew Luck. Despite the uncertainty over his health, Manning was courted by several teams and chose the Broncos. He set numerous passing records in Denver and led the Broncos to two Super Bowls, losing to the Seahawks in 2014 but beating the Panthers two years later in the final game of his storied career.3. QB Drew Brees, 2006 New Orleans Saints.Brees hit the open market at age 27 after he sustained a serious injury to his throwing shoulder in the 2005 season finale. The Chargers turned to Philip Rivers, whom they had acquired in a draft-day trade in 2004, and Brees became the rare young QB to get to test free agency. He chose New Orleans, which itself was making a comeback from Hurricane Katrina. The Saints won their only Super Bowl in 2010, over the Colts. Last season, Brees surpassed Favre for most career completions.4. DB Deion Sanders, 1994 San Francisco 49ers Malik Hooker Jersey , 1995 Dallas Cowboys. After five seasons with the Atlanta Falcons, Sanders went to San Francisco and helped the 49ers win the Super Bowl over the San Diego Chargers. Then he promptly left for Dallas in 1995 and helped lead the Cowboys to a Super Bowl victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Also a “prime time” kick returner, his stay in Dallas also included three first-team All-Pro honors, and Sanders was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2011.5. TE Shannon Sharpe, 2000, Baltimore Ravens. After winning back-to-back Super Bowl rings in Denver, Sharpe went to the Ravens and promptly won another. He had a 96-yard touchdown catch in the AFC championship game. In his two seasons in Baltimore, Sharpe broke tight end records for career catches, yards and touchdowns, all marks that were previously held by the man who signed him, ex-Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome. Sharpe was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2011.6. DB Charles Woodson Clayton Geathers Jersey Stitched , 2006 Green Bay Packers.Woodson was considered one of the biggest risks to hit the open market because he hadn’t played a full season in four years and only played in six games during his final season in Oakland. The Packers were his only suitors and he rewarded them with a career comeback that included NFL Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2009 and a Super Bowl ring after the 2010 season.7. QB Kurt Warner, 2005, Arizona Cardinals. Not only did Warner go from grocery clerk to NFL MVP and Super Bowl champ while orchestrating the “Greatest Show on Turf” in St. Louis, he had another career comeback in him with the Cardinals. After starting 3-12 in Arizona and getting benched for Matt Leinart, he won back his starting job and led the Cardinals to an improbable appearance in Super Bowl 43, where they lost 27-23 to the Steelers. Enshrined in the Hall of Fame in 2017.8. QB Rich Gannon, 1999, Oakland Raiders. Not much was expected of the 34-year-old journeyman when he joined a middling Raiders team and its young head coach, Jon Gruden. But Gannon flourished with his fourth NFL team, making four consecutive Pro Bowls, two All-Pro teams and three trips to the playoffs. He was the league’s MVP in 2002 at age 37 and led the Raiders to Super Bowl 37 against Tampa Bay.9. WR Jerry Rice Youth Denzelle Good Jersey , 2001, Oakland Raiders.Although he was in the twilight of his incredible career when crossed the bay at age 39, Rice posted two more 1,000-yard receiving seasons after leaving the 49ers, finishing with an NFL record 14 such years. The Raiders’ last taste of glory came with Rice. In 2001, they lost the infamous “Tuck Rule” game against Tom Brady and the Patriots, and a year later they made it to the Super Bowl, where they lost to Tampa Bay.10. K Adam Vinatieri, 2006 Indianapolis Colts. The only player to score 1,000 points with two franchises, Vinatieri won three Super Bowls in his decade in New England Denzelle Good Jersey Stitched , then another in Indy. The 46-year-old kicker is the NFL’s oldest active player. Last season, he broke Morten Andersen’s league record for field goals made and now has 690. He’s the league’s all-time scoring leader with 2,600 points and his 32 career playoff games are second behind former teammate Tom Brady.10a. RB Curtis Martin, 1998, New York Jets.A special category for this one because Martin was a restricted free agent. In his second season as Jets coach, Bill Parcells stunned the NFL when he signed his former franchise running back in New England away from the Patriots with a $36 million deal, parting with first- and third-round draft picks. Martin helped the Jets reach the AFC championship in his first season in New York and won the NFL rushing title in 2004 at age 31. Enshrined in the Hall of Fame in 2012.

Most of the news about the Giants this offseason has centered on the guy leaving. But once you set aside trading Odell Beckham to the Browns Orange Denzel Ward Jersey , Giants coach Pat Shurmur sounded genuinely excited about the addition of guard Kevin Zeitler (who also came over from Cleveland in a separate deal for Olivier Vernon).“He’s been a steady, solid performer at right guard and moving forward, you add a veteran presence at that position,’’ Shurmur told Paul Schwartz of the . “I think of the uncertainly this time last year with the offensive line and I think about how that line grew, the players that are still here Denzel Ward Jersey 2019 , how they grew as the season progressed and they developed. I thought [offensive line coaches Hal Hunter and Ben Wilkerson] did a good job of developing them.’’The addition of Zeitler (and his big contract) continues a string of big investments for their line. Last year’s free agency saw left tackle Nate Solder get a four-year, $62 million deal, and then they used a second-round pick on left guard Will Hernandez. Coupled with the return of center Jon Halapio, and the Giants only have one position in glaring need of an upgrade (right tackle).“When you add a solid, veteran player that’s established himself and he’s consistent and tough and has all the attributes you’re looking for in an offensive lineman to add to that crew Orange Nick Chubb Jersey , we got better,” Shurmur said. While Shurmur was praising Zeitler, it was mentioned that he was all-business.“It’s a refreshing concept, isn’t it?’’ the Giants coach said. “Because that’s what you want. You want guys who want to take care of their families. He’s got a wife, young family Nick Chubb Jersey 2019 , take care of your family and do your job. It’s very refreshing.’’While that could be reasonably viewed as a thinly veiled shot at the guy Shurmur no longer has to coach, what is clear is that he’s relieved to have a better grade of protection for Eli Manning. Cleveland can still bolster the defense with the No. 49 overall selection in 2019 NFL Draft."If Dorsey believes he does not need a day one starter from this pick, he could favor Temple cornerback Rock Ya-Sin, who began his career Presbyterian College, an FCS program. In three years with the Blue Hose Youth Carl Nassib Jersey , Ya-Sin started 33 games and was a first-team All-Big South selection in 2017 after making 45 tackles and intercepting five passes. He transferred to Temple for the 2018 season and was a first-team All-American Athletic Conference selection after leading the Owls with 12 pass breakups.According to his profile at The Draft Network:Matthew O’Haren-USA TODAY SportsA third cornerback to consider is Penn State’s Amani Oruwariye, who was a second-team All-Big Ten selection as a junior despite not being a starter for the Nittany Lions. A full-time starter in 2018, Oruwariye was a first-team all-conference selection after leading Penn State with a dozen pass breakups and intercepting three passes.According to his profile at The Draft Network:Moving to the safety position, Virginia’s Juan Thornhill could be one to watch as the Browns search for a replacement for Jabrill Peppers. A three-year starter for the Cavaliers, Thornhill progressed from being a third-team All-ACC selection to a first-team selection in 2018 as he lead Virginia in tackles and interceptions.According to Jake Burns at cleveland.com:Photo by Sam Greenwood/Getty ImagesAnother safety option is Florida’s Chauncey Gardner-Johnson Carl Nassib Jersey Stitched , who started 25 games for the Gators. In 2018, he lead the team in interceptions with four, while adding three sacks and nine tackles for loss (out of 71 total tackles).According to his profile at The Draft Network:What do you think Browns fans? Who would you like to see Dorsey select at No. 49?

Brees on the third play of the drive, finds Keith Kirkwood for 23 yards to the Steelers’ 30-yard line.On the drive, left guard Andrus Peat replaces Terron Armstead at left tackle. On third-and-10 from the Steelers’ 32-yard line, Brees’ pass falls incomplete. Wil Lutz’s 50-yard field goal attempt is blocked and the Steelers take over at their own 37-yard line.On the second play of the drive DeMario Davis Jersey Stitched , Demario Davis sacks Roethlisberger, forcing a 3rd-and-14 and the Steelers go three-and-out. On 4th-and-5, the Steelers go for a fake punt but do not reach the line of gain, giving the Saints the ball back at the Steelers’ 46-yard line.Brees goes into four-minutes offense mode with 4:06 left in the game. On third-and-10 from the Steelers’ 34-yard line, Brees finds Michael Thomas for 8 yards the Saints face a 4th-and-2 at Pittsburgh’s 26-yard line as the two-minute warning hits.On 4th-and-2, Brees throws towards Michael Thomas and the pass falls incomplete, but a flag is thrown for pass interference, giving the Saints a first down at Pittsburgh’s 22-yard line. On 3rd-and-20 after a holding penalty on Ryan Ramczyk, Drew Brees finds Ted Ginn Jr. for a 25-yard gain at the Steelers’ 7-yard line. On 2nd-and-goal from Pittsburgh’s 2-yard line, Drew Brees finds Michael Thomas for a touchdown. The PAT is good and the Saints retake the lead 31-28 with 1:25 left in the game. After the kickoff’s touchback, Pittsburgh takes over at their 25-yard line, and a false start penalty moves them back to the 20-yard line. After two incomplete passes, the Steelers face a 3rd-and-15 from their own 20-yard line and the pass falls incomplete. On 4th-and-15, Roethlisberger finds Antonio Brown for a first down Youth DeMario Davis Jersey , keeping the drive alive.Steelers get into Saints’ territory. On a pass to JuJu Smith-Schuster, Sheldon Rankins forces the second-year receiver to fumble by and Demario Davis recovers the ball. Saints Ball!!! It’s do or die mode for many teams entering Week 15, as the NFL playoff race continues to heat up. Nine early kickoffs are on deck for Sunday, as opposed to just two late games (balance, what’s that!?). Here’s a look at what we’re working with.Arizona Cardinals (3-10) at Atlanta Falcons (4-9)Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-8) at Baltimore Ravens (7-6)Detroit Lions (5-8) at Buffalo Bills (4-9)Green Bay Packers (5-7-1) at Chicago Bears (9-4)Oakland Raiders (3-10) at Cincinnati Bengals (5-8)Dallas Cowboys (8-5) at Indianapolis Colts (7-6)Washington Redskins (6-7) at Jacksonville Jaguars (4-9)Miami Dolphins (7-6) at Minnesota Vikings (6-6-1)Tennessee Titans (7-6) at New York Giants (5-8)In the late window we have:Seattle Seahawks (8-5) at San Francisco 49ers (3-10)New England Patriots (9-4) at Pittsburgh Steelers (7-5-1)The Saints, who won’t play until Monday Night Football when they travel to take on the Panthers, can clinch a first-round bye this week, but they’ll need some Aaron Rodgers magic first before we get there. The Cowboys, who have been at home three straight weeks, will have an interesting test on their hands when they take on the Colts. A lot of eyes will also be on the Vikings and seeing if they are able to hold onto the NFC’s final Wild Card spot.Perhaps the best thing that could happen today is Atlanta losing again, but it would be very ironic seeing them finish out 7-9.

Cowboys vs Giants: Four candidates to be the X-Factor player of the game for Dallas Whenever the Dallas Cowboys face the New York Giants there’s always something crazy that happens. Whether it’s Dez Bryant’s finger landing out of bounds Michael Irvin Jersey Stitched , Jason Pierre-Paul blocking a Dan Bailey field goal, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie running down the sidelines for a defensive touchdown, or Tony Romo hitting Jason Witten in the closing seconds of the game - it always seems to be complete madness.Of course, we won’t see any of that on Sunday because none of those players are playing in the game. That’s right, they’re gone. All of them. While those players have bounced, there will be no shortage of playmakers in this game. All it takes is one jump-cut and star running backs Ezekiel Elliott or Saquon Barkley will be off to the races. And we all know what wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and punter Chris Jones can do when they get in space. They’re electric! But who’s going to come up big in this game? Here are four X-Factor candidates for Sunday night’s contest.Michael Sisemore: Cole BeasleyBeasley needs to be that slow death that Jason Witten used to provide this team. The Giants are going to consume themselves with stopping Ezekiel Elliott. That means Landon Collins will be in the box because he has to. It’s too tall a task for New York’s linebackers and there’s not much sealing the edge without Olivier Vernon though their DT’s are still holding down the middle. With corners Janoris Jenkins and Eli Apple on the perimeters, look for former Cowboys draft pick Youth Charles Haley Jersey , B.W. Webb, to cover Cole Beasley in the slot. I’m not calling for 100+ receiving yards from Beasley but he has a huge opportunity to be the mover of the sticks. The Cowboys aren’t winning this game if they have a repeat of week one in the passing game. Cole Beasley has the best chance to keep this offense alive when it’s needed most. The last time Beasley faced the Giants in AT&T he was just showing off.Tom Ryle: Taco CharltonWith Randy Gregory likely out, look for Taco to get the start at RDE, opposite DeMarcus Lawrence. The Giants know just what a threat DeMarcus Lawrence is, and they will have to give Ereck Flowers some help. That means Charlton is going to be seeing a lot of one-on-one blocking, and that is not good news for Eli Manning. We have been looking for Charlton to have a break-out game, and this is a near perfect situation for him. He has Nate Solder to work against. Solder is certainly a better tackle than Flowers Charles Haley Jersey Stitched , but Taco showed signs of improvement in the Panthers game. He will know that the Giants will be focused on Lawrence, and in Manning, he basically has a stationary target to get after. Look for him to get a sack and putting pressure on Eli all game. That will make Manning uncomfortable, and we all know what happens when that is the case.Dave Halprin: Tavon AustinThe Cowboys failed to get Austin involved in a meaningful way in Week 1. He did have a nice screen at the start wiped out by penalty, but besides a jet sweep that went nowhere he saw very little of the football. This week, he’s going to have at least one big play. Somehow the Cowboys will get him the ball in space, whether on a screen Youth DeMarcus Ware Jersey , a play out of the backfield, even a regular old pass, and Austin will make magic happen. Heck, it might even come on a punt return. It’s not going to be a consistent thing, but Austin will have some big plays that will affect the outcome positively for Dallas. The last time Austin faced the Giants, he had six carries for 34 yards, and the Cowboys could use some plays like this on Sunday night.Danny Phantom: Anthony BrownThe Cowboys will win this game if they can just limit big plays. While in the past DeMarcus Ware Jersey Stitched , Odell Beckham Jr. is the one guy who caused the most concern, but the Giants now have a few offensive weapons that can cause the defense problems. The Giants last two first-round draft picks, Saquon Barkley and Evan Engram, are athletic players who can hurt you if not properly defended. But while all the attention is being put on these stars, it’s the sneaky craftiness of Sterling Shepard that should cause concern. Shepard can be a chains mover and is very effective out of the slot. Cowboys nickel corner Anthony Brown is going to have his work cut out for him this week. Of course, Brown can be sneaky himself and jump routes if he gets a good read on a play. He’s been very good against the Giants as two of his three career interceptions have come against the boys in blue.Shepard is going to win some battles, but all it takes is one slip up by Eli to show what Brown can do for you.Jourdan Lewis didn’t play a single defensive snap last week so we can probably table the idea that he is going to be the team’s nickel corner. For now Youth Dak Prescott Jersey , it’s Brown’s job and a good performanceon Sunday night could spoil a Giants drive.Which player do you think will be the difference maker in this game? Hit us up in the comments with your X-Factor player of the game. The Cowboys will use the franchise tag on defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence again if it comes to that. He’s not going anywhere. But the team hopes to negotiate a long-term deal with Lawrence before the March 5 deadline and thus has no plans to use the tag until then, Clarence Hill of the reports. Teams can begin using the tag Tuesday.Lawrence played the 2018 season under the $17.1 million franchise tag. He has made it clear he has no intention of playing a second consecutive year under the tag, which would pay him $20.5 million this year.Lawrence has not had the shoulder surgery he needs, according to Hill, and probably won’t have it until getting a long-term contract. Lawrence also plans to sit out all team activities in the absence of a new deal.He made 10.5 sacks, 39 quarterback pressures in 2018 and earned a second trip to the Pro Bowl.

ATLANTA (AP) — Patrick Mahomes’ breathtaking breakthrough season earned him the NFL’s Most Valuable Player award. The Chiefs quarterback landed a pair of honors at NFL Honors on Saturday night, taking The Associated Press 2018 MVP and Offensive Player of the Year awards. In his second pro season, Mahomes led Kansas City to its first AFC title game since 1993 with some of the most creative and clutch plays the league has seen in years.“I’m so humbled,” he said. “This is just the beginning. We’ve got a long ways to go.“It is an honor. It’s a hard award to win. The next award I hope I can get is the Super Bowl.”Mahomes received 41 votes from a nationwide panel of media members who regularly cover the league. New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees got the other nine. With only one previous start, Mahomes entered the season as something of a curiosity in Kansas City after the Chiefs traded veteran Alex Smith to open up the job. It didn’t take long to erase any doubts as Mahomes led the Chiefs to their first AFC title game since the 1993 season, throwing for 50 touchdowns, 5,097 yards and had a 113.8 QB rating, trailing only Brees.Mahomes’ ingenuity — the guy can throw from all angles and make plays inside and outside the pocket — energized the Chiefs’ fan base and excited fans across the league.“The play is never dead. He can find new ways to get you the ball,” Chiefs All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce said. “It may look like a screwball, a slider here or there, but it’ll get to you eventually.”Mahomes is the sixth straight quarterback and 11th of the past 12 years to win MVP. No Kansas City player had won the award since the Chiefs joined the NFL in 1970.Earlier Andrew Luck Jersey 2019 , he was selected as the top offensive player, beating Brees 30 votes to 16.“Yeah, I mean, it’s awesome … I got put into a great situation,” he said. “I got to learn behind a great quarterback in Alex Smith. I got to be on a team with a lot of playmakers who helped me excel my game and make me look really good on a daily basis. And, then, to be able to go out there and win football games in front of a passionate fan base is something I get the luxury of doing.”Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald, who will play in Sunday’s Super Bowl against New England, took his second straight Defensive Player of the Year award.Donald, the only unanimous All-Pro this season and the first Rams player selected for top defensive honor, joins Lawrence Taylor and J.J. Watt as players to win the award in back-to-back seasons. Donald led the NFL with 20½ sacks.“Any time you put a body of work into it and then it pays off,” Donald said White T.Y. Hilton Jersey , “and you’re rewarded for it, it means a lot. It’s a blessing.”Chicago’s Matt Nagy, in his first season with the Bears, was voted Coach of the Year.Nagy has overseen the development of quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, who blossomed in his second pro season, and saw a defense befitting the “Monsters of the Midway” dominate opponents at times. He is the fifth Bears coach to win the award, joining team founder George Halas (1963, 1965), Mike Ditka (1985, 1988), Dick Jauron (2001) and Lovie Smith (2005).“It’s crazy to think this is one person, so for me T.Y. Hilton Jersey 2019 , it’s being a part of this organization and for our players,” Nagy said. “Just being able to believe in what we wanted to do with our culture and then follow through with it.”Colts quarterback Andrew Luck was chosen the Comeback Player of the Year, following a lost 2017 season to a shoulder injury with a sensational 2018 campaign.“I truly believe there are players on every team, every roster that could be Comeback Player of the Year in their own ways,” he said. “Honestly, the best part was playing football again — having fun playing football and being pain free.”Giants running back Saquon Barkley was the top offensive rookie, while the defensive rookie award went to Indianapolis linebacker Darius Leonard.Described by some as a “generational running back,” Barkley rushed for 1,307 yards and 11 touchdowns behind a weak New York offensive line. He drew 26½ votes and edged Baker Mayfield. The Cleveland quarterback who was selected first overall in the draft, one spot in front of Barkley, earned 21½ votes.Barkley also made a team-high 91 receptions for 721 yards, and his 2 White Pat McAfee Jersey ,028 yards from scrimmage led the NFL.For his work as defensive coordinator of the Chicago Bears, Vic Fangio got the head coaching gig in Denver. He also won The Associated Press 2018 NFL Assistant Coach of the Year Award on Saturday.Philadelphia Eagles DE Chris Long won the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award for community service.“I don’t know, I’m very humbled,” Long said. “It’s hard to feel deserving with those guys on stage and, obviously, this guy right here on the statue. It’s a very heavy statue and it makes sense because his legacy is immense. I’m just honored.”

Russo-USA TODAY SportsThe order of the Cleveland Browns’ 2019 preseason schedule was released on Tuesday. The team does not have a nationally televised preseason game as of now. Here is a rundown of the schedule:Preseason Schedule for the BrownsPreseason Game 1: Washington Redskins at Cleveland Browns (August 8-12)Preseason Game 2: Cleveland Browns at Indianapolis Colts (August 15-19)Preseason Game 3: Cleveland Browns at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (August 22-26)Preseason Game 4: Detroit Lions at Cleveland Browns (August 29-September 1)This is a different type of preseason schedule for the Browns, who only have the Lions as return opponents from a season ago. As previously announced, the Browns will travel early to Indianapolis to practice against them a few times leading up to the second preseason game. The Browns’ dress rehearsal game will come against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Orange Nick Chubb Jersey , the team that new offensive coordinator Todd Monken worked for in 2018.The regular season schedule will be announced later this month. At that time, the firm dates/times of the preseason games will also be announced. Jay Crawford and Tim Couch will return for the second year in a row to call the Browns’ preseason action. CLEVELAND (AP) — Greg Robinson resurrected his career and resolved a major problem for the Browns last season. He’ll try for an encore.Robinson, a former high draft pick whose days in the NFL once seemed about over Nick Chubb Jersey 2019 , re-signed with Cleveland on Monday for next season. The No. 2 overall selection in 2014, Robinson played all 16 games for Cleveland in 2018 starting the final eight. He solidified an important position following the retirement of 10-time Pro Bowler Joe Thomas and the team’s experiment with guard Joel Bitonio during training camp and rookie Desmond Harrison at left tackle in the season’s first half.Robinson was eligible to become an unrestricted free agent in March, but he’s decided to stay with the Browns for another season. The 26-year-old began the season behind Harrison Youth Carl Nassib Jersey , but was moved into the starting lineup when coach Hue Jackson was fired and replaced by Gregg Williams. With Robinson protecting quarterback Baker Mayfield’s blind side, the Browns allowed a league-low five sacks in the second half of the season after giving up 33 in the first eight games.Robinson’s security on the left side enabled Mayfield to set the league rookie record with 27 touchdown passes, and he opened holes for running back Nick Chubb Carl Nassib Jersey Stitched , who set a club rookie mark with 996 yards rushing.Cleveland finished 7-8-1 after losing all 16 games in 2017.The Browns’ decision to re-sign Robinson will likely affect their plans in free agency and the draft. Cleveland has bigger needs on the defensive line, at linebacker and wide receiver.Robinson was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in 2014 but underperformed and was traded to Detroit in 2017. He didn’t live up to expectations with the Lions either and was released before the Browns signed him in June. The Browns also waived wide receiver Daniel Williams. He spent the final four weeks of last season on the club’s practice squad.

CHAPEL HILL Julius Peppers Jersey , N.C. (AP) — North Carolina is finally back on schedule. The Tar Heels open Atlantic Coast Conference play Saturday at home against Pittsburgh after having a game canceled due to Hurricane Florence. It will mark their first chance to climb out of an 0-2 start , though it comes after a week that took them out of in-season routines.“It’s an unforeseen break,” UNC coach Larry Fedora said, “and we’ve got to turn it into a positive.”UNC was set to face No. 16 UCF last weekend, but Florence’s approach toward the Carolinas’ coastline forced the schools to cancel the game Sept. 11. A day later, Fedora said, the coaches dismissed the players, with roughly half leaving campus with classes canceled and the rest sticking around. The Tar Heels didn’t practice for four days as the storm brought wind and rain. And as they returned to the practice field Monday, there was also work to aid Florence relief efforts.Fedora and several players spent part of Tuesday loading the program’s equipment truck with donated items being brought to campus to help areas affected by the storm. The players also decided to give their $15 per-diem meal money for last week’s canceled game to acquire $1,275 in supplies for former UNC linebacker Kevin Reddick’s donation drive for his hometown of New Bern DJ Moore Color Rush Jersey , one of several flooded communities in the eastern half of the state. Now it’s time to focus fully on football again.“It’s definitely weird having those four days off,” offensive guard Nick Polino said. “It’s not something that usually happens . even on a bye week. We just kind of did some recovery, some guys got a workout in if we could.“Other than that, we’re ready to be back in the swing of things.”The Panthers (2-1, 1-0 ACC) are coming off a home win against Georgia Tech in their league opener, though they’re preparing for their first road game of the season. They’re also trying to earn their first win against UNC since joining the ACC for the 2013 season.Pitt has lost all five meetings against its Coastal Division foe, all by one-possession margins.“It’s by four points here, five points there,” Pitt senior cornerback Phillipie Motley said. “And it’s a topic of discussion just because we’ve been in the game and had chances to win the game. But like I said, hey James Color Rush Bradberry Jersey , we just didn’t make the plays when it was time to make the plays.”Here are things to know about Saturday’s Pitt-UNC game:QADREE’S QUEST: Pitt senior running back Qadree Ollison is running well. The former league offensive rookie of the year leads the Panthers with 283 yards rushing and three touchdowns while averaging 6.3 yards per carry. He credits his success to his line, some added explosiveness for trimming body fat in the offseason and time spent working primarily as a blocking back — which helped him better understand how to set up his own blockers.ELLIOTT’S ACCURACY: North Carolina needs quarterback Nathan Elliott to be more accurate . He’s completed roughly 51 percent of his passes with one touchdown in two games. The junior said he’s working on it and determined to “be better.”BRACE YOURSELF: Pitt quarterback Kenny Pickett is traveling with extra hardware: a brace on his left knee. The sophomore typically wore a brace during practice but not in games — that is, until coach Pat Narduzzi ordered Pickett to wear it full time after Pickett narrowly escaped serious injury when a Georgia Tech player crashed into the knee last week. Pickett says it shouldn’t limit his mobility and the biggest issue is simply comfort.WATCH LIST: North Carolina receiver Anthony Ratliff-Williams had a huge game at Pitt last year. He returned the opening kickoff for a 98-yard touchdown, threw a trick-play scoring pass and had the go-ahead TD catch in the fourth quarter of the 34-31 win.ADVANTAGE?: UNC’s altered schedule means more time for banged-up players to heal and extra time for UNC’s coaches to scout Pitt. “Nobody is banged up and they’ve had two weeks to prepare for us,” Narduzzi said. “I think it’s an advantage for them.” Safety Eric Reid has a job represents a start. Dolphins receiver Kenny Stills now wants the NFL to go the rest of the way and bring quarterback Colin Kaepernick back into league.“I’m happy that Eric is going to be playing,” Stills said Thursday, via ESPN.com. “He’s a game-changer on the defensive side of the ball. I’m excited to see him play. I definitely think he should have been signed a long time ago. As far as what it means, it means a team was finally able to look past the protest. I think we’re making some progress as far as how the owners, teams and G.M.’s are understanding what the protest is about. . . .“That’s progress, but we still have one of the best quarterbacks in the league sitting at home waiting to be signed. That’ll be the ultimate say of how people look back on the NFL at this point in time. You got one of the best guys not playing on a team and there are teams out there that need quarterbacks.”Stills Ian Thomas Jersey , one of two remaining players who kneel during the national anthem to protest social injustice, said that he spoke to Kaepernick on Thursday morning.“I said, ‘What are you doing?'” Stills said. “He said, ‘Just came from a workout. I’m ready to go.’ He wants to play. He’s good enough to play. He deserves to play. I’m not sure why a team hasn’t signed him yet.”Kaepernick became a free agent in March 2017, after opting out of his contract with the 49ers, who have said that he would have been released if he hadn’t elected to leave. The Seahawks visited with him in the 2017 offseason, but the Seahawks did not offer him a contract. During the 2018 offseason, the Seahawks had a workout scheduled for Kaepernick, but the workout was canceled.

The Jacksonville Jaguars were guaranteed last place in the AFC South weeks ago Jacksonville Jaguars Hoodie , but the other divisions — and the corresponding opponents who also finished last in their respective divisions — wasn’t fully decided until late Sunday evening. Now that the Week 17 games have finished, we’ve got the full slate of 2019 opponents for the Jaguars, both home and away. Check out the full list of the team’s opponents next year:Home gamesThe division games will be tough next year, even at home. The benefit of getting to play the tougher AFC West opponents at home next year will be fun and I would bet that a game like the one against the Chiefs gets moved to London. This will also be the second consecutive season we play the Jets at home and the fourth straight year we play them.Away gamesWith the Raiders in flux, I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re the road opponent in the back-to-back series in London. Aside from the Panthers, I would suspect all our non-division road games to be up against teams either in a full rebuild (Broncos) or a semi-rebuild like us (Falcons, Bengals, and Raiders).SummaryWe will compete in games where the quarterback isn’t mobile and struggle in games where they are. The over/under is set to 5.5 wins. What are you taking? This article probably feels familiar since the first installment just ran three weeks ago, but we’re here to give you the most accurate and current information possible, so you remained informed. This is the Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Indianapolis Colts series history recap, round two. The two teams recently met in Indianapolis in Week 10, where the Colts held on for a victory (more on that later). The two teams have been going in opposite directions this season, as the Jaguars started strong, but have dropped seven straight games, while Indy started poorly, but has won its last five games. Let’s jump right back into it. Series historyAll-time regular season series record: Colts lead 23-12All-time postseason record: N/ALast Jaguars win: Dec. 3, 2017 (30-10)Last Colts win: Nov. 11, 2018 (29-26)Current Streak: Colts with a one-game winning streakBiggest Jaguars win: 51-16 (Dec. 13, 2015)Biggest Colts win: 43-14 (Sept. 25, 2000)Interesting takeaway: The Jaguars are just 7-10 all-time as the home team in the series, but have won the previous three home meetings, including as the designated “home” team in London in 2016. Quick thoughts: The Jaguars have defeated the Colts in four of the past six contests, but Indianapolis had won all six games prior to that. Looking at the full history, the Jags and Colts only met twice prior to the conference realignment in 2002. Indianapolis (AFC East) http://www.jaguarsfanstore.com/Quincy-Williams-II-Jersey , beat Jacksonville (AFC Central), in both of those contests. Then the Colts won the next three games while both teams began competition in the AFC South. Jacksonville finally got its first win against Indy in 2003, and another one the next season in 2004. The Colts hold a large advantage overall, but since 2011 the Colts have won eight and the Jaguars have won seven, so it’s been a lot more competitive as of late. Overall, the Colts have been a much more successful franchise with a 512-458-7 (about .530 winning percentage) all-time record compared to the Jaguars with anow 168-211 (.443) record. In less playoff games, the Jaguars have a slightly better record (7-7, .500) than the Colts (22-23, .489). Previous MatchupWinner: ColtsScore: 29-26Date: Nov. 11, 2018Location: Lucas Oil Stadium, IndianapolisTeam Stats: Jaguars — 324 passing yards, 91 rushing yards, 24 first downsColts — 285 passing yards, 81 rushing yards, 17 first downsQuick recap: This was a tale of two halves. The Colts hung 29 points on the Jaguars in the first half, and led by 13 at halftime. The Jaguars then shut out Indianapolis in the second half and doubled their score to make it 29-26 deep into the fourth quarter. The Jags had their chance to tie or take the lead late in the game and deep into Colts territory, but Rashad Greene Sr. fumbled the ball at the Indianapolis 24-yard line with about a minute-and-a-half to go. The Colts then kneeled out the clock. This was arguably Blake Bortles’ best performance of the season (besides maybe the the New England game), as he finished the game 26-38 for 320 yards with two touchdowns and zero picks — actually, Bortles often plays well against the Colts, but we obviously won’t see that this week. Winner: JaguarsScore: 30-10Date: Dec. 3, 2017Location: EverBank Field, JacksonvilleTeam Stats: Jaguars — 338 passing yards, 96 rushing yards, 22 first downsColts — 174 passing yards Josh Oliver Jersey , 141 rushing yards, 17 first downsQuick recap: Blake Bortles tends to beat up on the Colts, and he did so twice in 2017. On this particular day, Bortles completed 74 percent of passes for 309 yards, two touchdowns and zero turnovers. Leonard Fournette added a touchdown, and Josh Lambo tacked on a couple of field goals. A lot of wide receivers got involved with Marqise Lee securing seven catches for 86 yards and a touchdown, while Keelan Cole had 49 receiving yards and a score, and Dede Westbrook added six catches for 78 yards. The defense had a strong performance with four sacks and two interceptions. Brad Nortman even completed a pass. It was a great all-around performance — man, I miss 2017.Through the Decades1990s: Colts 1-0 (1995)2000-2010: Colts lead 14-52011-Present: Colts lead 8-7Quick thoughts: While the Colts dominated early, winning eight of the first 10 matchups overall, it is the Jaguars that have been making a comeback. The Colts held the advantage in the 1990s (granted, that was only one game in Jacksonville’s first year as a competing NFL franchise) and early 2000s, but Jacksonville has closed the gap. As mentioned earlier, the series is 8-7 Colts since 2011, and since 2008, Indy’s advantage is just 12-9. Indianapolis easily dominated from 2000 through 2010, which gives them the lopsided advantage in the series overall. Heading into the second meeting of 2018, I have no idea what to expect. The Jaguars have fired offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett and benched Blake Bortles. Meanwhile Leonard Fournette is suspended for the game, Andrew Norwell was placed on IR and Jalen Ramsey may not play. I am not even sure how this team can compete this week, but the NFL is strange sometimes, and if the Colts are looking past the Jaguars (I doubt it) an upset can ensue. Does Jacksonville even stand a chance in this one? Let us know.

The Saints will bring a 10-game winning streak into Dallas on Thursday night and one might think that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones would prefer a less imposing opponent as the race for the NFC East title plays out. That wasn’t the approach Jones took on Tuesday Chidobe Awuzie Jersey , however. Jones called it “real exciting” to have a chance to face a team of that stature at this point in the season and said that beating the streaking Saints would “really lift our team” heading into the final quarter of the season. It’s hard to argue with that, but beating the Saints has proven to be quite a difficult task this season. Jones shared one thing he believes the Cowboys must do if they are going to end the NFL’s longest current winning streak.“Each play, we’ve got to think it’s the Super Bowl play,” Jones said on 105.3 The Fan, via the Dallas Morning News. “If every player on every play in this game says, ‘When we put that tape on Monday, it’s going to look like one of my best plays of the year,’ it’s really going to take that kind of focus to beat a team like this.”Jones probably isn’t wrong about the level of focus required to beat the Saints, but the Saints haven’t been lacking in that department this season so it will be just one part of a very difficult puzzle to solve on Thursday night. The Cowboys barely won on Thursday night, the Saints barely lost. The officials, led by referee Walt Anderson Jourdan Lewis Color Rush Jersey , suffered a blowout.Various bad calls undermined a great game, with the most consequential blunder coming when Saints running back Alvin Kamara sustained the kind of hit that the new rule against lowering the helmet (as unofficially revised but not officially revised) was specifically aimed at eliminating from the sport. But no flag was thrown. There’s a good chance the call would have been missed even if the rule hadn’t been unofficially relaxed. Officials are still adjusting to a widening of the focus, watching one player approaching another and adopting the prohibited linear posture before making impact. Last night, Smith rocketed toward Kamara, and the seven officials who are primarily trying to avoid being trampled by young men in armor didn’t see it coming. That’s why the NFL needs to eventually embrace the use of an eighth member of the officiating crew. But that person wouldn’t be put on the field. Official No. 8 would sit at a bank of monitors, seeing every possible camera angle. Official No. 8 would be in constant contact with the referee or some other member of the on-field crew. Official No. 8 would serve as an extra set of eyes from the perspective of a viewer, bridging the gap between what the officials see from within the field and what the rest of us see from within our homes. It wouldn’t be part of the replay process, because it wouldn’t be replay review, per se. It would be an embrace of the primary manner in which pro football is consumed, and it would provide real-time assistance to the officiating crew from place of no physical peril.Eventually, it will happen. A blown call that affects a game and/or the application of the betting line will https://www.dallascowboysfanshop.com/Rico-Gathers-Jersey , as legal wagering spreads, force the league to make what should be an easy and obvious change. As hard-earned dollars legitimately ride on whether or not officials get it right, the league will face relentless pressure to get it right, all the time. For decades, the supposed purity of sport has embraced the impurity of human error. When the final score of sporting events begin to have the same relevance to American society as the rising and falling of stock prices, the challenge for sports leagues will be to take all steps necessary to eradicate human error from its games.Having a real-time video official who has the same standing as an official who is standing on the field would assist in that objective, while creating relatively minimal delays. And if the NFL doesn’t make this change on its own, some governmental body eventually will demand it.

For the first time in all too long https://www.thebearsfanshop.com/Khalil-Mack-Jersey , the Bears are playing meaningful games in December, and the offseason is more a subject of speculation than a pressing concern. However, with the Bears enjoying a mini bye after an 11-day gauntlet, the contributors at Windy City Gridiron took the chance to discuss what we thought this team might need moving forward. On Wednesday, we also asked fans to weigh in on what they saw as the needs the Bears would have heading into the offseason. We received enough feedback to have two parts--the low priorities and the high priorities Based on our opinions and the feedback of the community, here are the lesser of the Bears’ likely top needs next offseason.#4: Edge RusherAs this is being written,13% of those voting in the poll identified EDGE as a top need. Andrew Link, our regular pass-rush analyst extraordinaire, had this to say about the position:Meanwhile, WhiskeyRanger thought the position was enough of a need to list it as his third-highest priority in the contributor discussion:It will be interesting to see how much of a need EDGE becomes and whether or not the Bears choose to exercise the extra year option that they have on Leonard Floyd. When thinking of Floyd as a total outside linebacker, someone who can take away weapons from the other side and also apply pressure (even if he doesn’t always get home), it seems like a no-brainer to lock him up for another year. However, Pace might have other plans in mind.#3: Running Back19% of those voting in the poll considered running back a top priority, putting it in third place overall. The contributors also consider this to be an area of concern, and they largely agreed with the community. The Man In Charge, Lester Wiltfong himself, called this “the Jordan Howard conundrum,” and ranked it as his third-highest priority. For what it’s worth https://www.thebearsfanshop.com , when Jay Ajayi—a one-time Pro Bowler with more than a year left on his contract—was traded mid-season, he netted a fourth-round pick. Ajayi might be the most optimistic comparison for what Howard might bring on the trade market. Most running backs don’t even command that much draft capital, unless they are former first-rounders being traded to the Colts. Meanwhile, Andrew Link considered running back to be the third-highest priority as well. Here is what he had to say:Additionally. WhiskeyRanger gave the position an honorable mention: However, one contributor thinks that the position carries an ever higher priority. Erik Duerrwaechter had this to say about what he considered to be the most important off-season need:For my part, I feel like besides retaining whatever talent they have, the Bears should attack the position with what I have come to consider the “Pace Area of Emphasis.” This is where Pace spends money on a handful of medium-tier free agents, spends a draft pick on the position, and then also shuffles through undrafted free agency in order to create a lot of competition at the position and to hope real talent rises to the top. Those are the less-than-urgent priorities as the community and as the contributors see them. Next up, we will look at the top priorities and at what options might be out there to address them.Five Questions with Pats Pulpit: “The Garoppolo trade was the right move for the Patriots” The defending AFC Champion New England Patriots are coming to town. Fresh off a victory against the red-hot Kansas City Chiefs, the Patriots appear to be hitting their stride. To help us prepare for what’s coming, I reached out to Bernd Buchmasser from Pats Pulpit to talk about this little upstart program coming out of Boston. Windy City Gridiron: 1. The Patriots were able to outscore and outlast the Chiefs in the Sunday Night Football game last week, making it 3 wins in a row and scoring at least 38 points in each of those contests. Is it safe to say this offense has found it’s footing and just how important has the return of Julian Edelman been to that success?Pats Pulpit: While the Patriots did not necessarily play a murderer’s row of NFL defenses over the last three weeks, they did show some encouraging improvement on offense: the running game with Sony Michel and James White as the top two options has found its groove, while the passing offense got out of its early-season slump. Julian Edelman, unsurprisingly, played a big role in that: his addition gave the team a wide receiver option that a) has the ability to get open quickly and thus serve as a safety blanket for Tom Brady (something the team lacked during his suspension), and b) has earned Brady’s trust over the years. With him back in the lineup Chicago Bears Customized Jerseys , the quarterback appears to be much more comfortable in his supporting cast while coordinator Josh McDaniels has a chance to dig deeper into the playbook.WCG: 2. One of the most impressive aspects of the Patriots offense has been the emergence of Sony Michel, rookie out of Georgia. Bill Belichick surprised a lot of people by taking Michel at the end of the first round in this year’s draft but after a slow start, he’s looked the part of an impact player. What do you think the reason was for taking Michel and what is his outlook rest of season?Pats Pulpit: Despite letting Dion Lewis walk in free agency, running back was not that high up on the list of Patriots draft needs – the selection of Michel was therefore a minor surprise (but what’s a surprise really when talking about Belichick’s Patriots, right?). So why did the team do it? Personally, I think there are four plausible theories: 1) The Patriots tried to trade down but couldn’t find a partner. 2) The Patriots knew that Jeremy Hill and Mike Gillislee were not suited to replace Lewis’ role and production. 3) Michel was simply the highest-ranked player on their board. 4) The Patriots wanted another player to counter current developments in the game: with pro football putting ever more focus on moving the football via the pass, New England is investing in the running game to counter the lighter defensive packages it might face and to take advantage of the market. Whatever the reason Michel ended up in New England, he has taken on a big role in the offense. If he and the Patriots’ offensive line can stay mostly healthy, it would not be a surprise to see the rookie break the 1,000-yard barrier in his first year.WCG: 3. The Patriots defense has been spotty at best on this young season. Is there worry that this will be a season-long issue that will haunt the Patriots or is there a belief that Belichick will right the ship? What is the biggest weakness that the Bears offense should look to exploit?Pats Pulpit: One thing I have learned over the years is to not draw any definitive conclusions about the Patriots before the month of October is over. That being said, there are some concerns about the team’s defense as it looks right now: free safety Devin McCourty has struggled in coverage, the team is still inconsistent when it comes to putting pressure on quarterbacks, and the linebackers covering running backs is a big play waiting to happen. But other than that... how was the play, Mrs. Lincoln? So if I were the Bears, I would try to isolate Tarik Cohen on a linebacker in coverage, or use multiple tight end formations to force McCourty into a one-on-one matchup. That’s all easier said than done, but when possibilities like these present themselves, Chicago should look to take advantage. What the Patriots are really good at Chicago Bears T-Shirts , though, is masking their deficiencies through scheme and formations – throwing different looks at Mitchell Trubisky and forcing him to make good reads and decisions is something that should be expected on Sunday.WCG: 4. One of the fascinating things about Bill Belichick is his ability to play a hybrid defense to try and take away something that the other team does best - make them play left-handed so to speak. It seems equally true that the Patriots offense can morph into a ground and pound team or sling it around the yard, depending on the match up. If you’re Bill Belichick, how would you attack the Bears and what players should Bears fans be most aware of for you to succeed in that strategy? Pats Pulpit: The Bears defense is tremendous, so finding obvious weaknesses to attack is easier said than done. If I’d put on my partially sleeveless hoodie, though, I would try to establish the short passing game early to a) neutralize the pass rush, b) take advantage of yards after the catch (like the Dolphins did last week), and potentially open up space for the running game later on. I would therefore keep an eye on one player in particular: running back James White, who has been one of the NFL’s best receiving backs for the last couple of years and actually leads New England in receptions. If the Patriots indeed try to set up a rhythm by going to the air early and often, White could be one of the guys to benefit.WCG: 5. Since the Bears and Patriots only get together every four years, this will likely be the last time I can ask a Belichick / Brady question so here goes: Just how much longer is this thing going to last and who do you believe will step down first? Is there a record or number that either of them are going for or do you believe they make an honest assessment each offseason? Finally - was the Jimmy Garoppolo trade the right move for this franchise? Pats Pulpit: Well, according to the man himself Tom Brady will play forever. But even if his prediction does not hold up I still see him go for two more seasons after this one – which would give the team time to grow a successor potentially picked highly in next year’s draft (sorry, Danny Etling fans, he’s probably not the one). If that happens, I can actually see Belichick stick around for one, two more years longer to help with the transition to general manager Nick Caserio and head coach... at the moment I would say probably Josh McDaniels. But before going too deep into speculative territory: I don’t necessarily think that Brady and Belichick are aiming for specific records – I think Brady just does it because he really, really likes it. And I think Belichick is wired in a similar way https://www.thebearsfanshop.com/hats , although I can see him try to get Shula’s all-time wins record (Belichick is a football historian at heart, after all) which would mean he would still be around for the next 6-7 seasons. You never know. What I do know, however, is that the Garoppolo trade was the right move for the Patriots because Brady made it the right move. Had the GOAT slipped, New England would probably have considered going with the young gun instead of him. But with Brady looking as good as ever, paying two quarterbacks starting caliber money was just not financially feasible. Having Garoppolo as Brady’s heir was therefore a sound plan in theory but one that the old man destroyed in practice by just not slowing down.WCG: Bonus: I’ve had the lobster roll at Doyle’s (an old-school Boston tavern), which I enjoyed immensely, my first time in Boston. When I eventually make my way back to the Boston area, what other New England food item(s) do I need to make sure I get my hands on?Pats Pulpit: I’m not from New England, so I went to ask the locals on our staff for their recommendations:Chris Blackey: I’ve got a sweet tooth: whoopie pies and cannolis in the North End.Pat Lane: Sit at the original bar at Union Oyster House. The one that Daniel Webster sat at. I’d recommend the clam chowder, because I’m not an oyster guy, but I’ve heard the oysters are amazing. The best pizza in the city is Santarpio’s in East Boston. Not only is it great, but the rest of the menu, and the atmosphere is fantastic. Brian Phillips: Tell him he hasn’t lived until he’s had a large cup of 1/2 day old, probably-microwaved coffee from Cumby’s. Alec Shane: Bar pizza is a thing that only seems to exist in Boston. Kelley Square Pub in East Boston is the best I’ve had in the city.Ryan Spagnoli: Pizzeria Regina, favorite spot in North End or Halftime Pizza across the street from the garden before C’s and B’s!Rich Hill: I really enjoy the great Boston Classic, “McDonalds”.Editor’s Note: A McWhat? Thanks to Bernd and Pats Pulpit for the info! What do you think Bears fans? Does the Navy & Orange come out ahead in this one?

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Hyun-Jin Ryu of the Los Angeles Dodgers has lost his no-hit bid with one out in the eighth inning when Gerardo Parra doubled for the Washington Nationals.Parra drove Ryu’s 105th pitch to deep left-center and it bounced over the fence for a ground-rule double Sunday at Dodger Stadium.Ryu had struck out nine bestcheapmlbjersey.com , and Washington’s only previous baserunner came with one out in the fourth when Brian Dozier walked. The Dodgers lead 2-0.In 2014, Ryu took a no-hitter into the eighth inning against Cincinnati before Todd Frazier led off with a double.Dodgers right fielder Cody Bellinger backed Ryu with an outstanding defensive play that preserved the no-hit bid in the sixth. Nationals pitcher Stephen Strasburg appeared to hit a line-drive single, but Bellinger grabbed the ball on one hop and fired to first base in time to get Strasburg.Washington challenged the call, but it stood after a replay review.Anthony Rendon flied out to the left field warning track, just in front of the short wall, to end the top of the seventh.Ryu threw a four-hit shutout on 93 pitches Tuesday against Atlanta. KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Nicky Lopez had just been benched for the second time in three days at Triple-A Omaha when he was called into manager Brian Poldberg’s office and ordered to hand over his cell phone.“That’s odd MLB Jerseys Wholesale ,” Lopez thought Monday night. But everything made sense when his mother picked up on the other end, and Poldberg told both of them at the same time that the 24-year-old infielder was headed to the Kansas City Royals.“That’s when she started crying,” Lopez said, “and I got a little emotional.”Lopez made the quick trip to Kansas City and immediately found his name in the starting lineup, the club’s top prospect playing second base and batting second Tuesday night in the opener of a three-game series against the Texas Rangers at Kauffman Stadium.“I don’t think I’ve stopped smiling, to be honest,” he said. “My phone’s been blowing up nba jerseys cheap , which has been cool, seeing everyone supporting me. People I haven’t talked to in a while. It’s just been awesome. It’s been a great 24 hours. I’m just ready to get after it.”The Royals had been thinking about bringing Lopez up in mid-June or even early July, but he had continued to dominate Triple-A pitching. The fifth-round pick of the 2016 draft was hitting .353 with a .457 on-base percentage, and he had struck out just five times in 116 at-bats.Throw in some crafty defense, strong baserunning and maturity beyond his years, and manager Ned Yost said there was little reason left for the rebuilding club to keep Lopez in the minors.“I expect him to show up every day and play his heart out,” Yost said. “He pays attention. That’s what I like. Spring training cheap nba jerseys , we’d go play the Angels and guys would sit on the bench, and Nicky would never stop paying attention to the game.”Lopez wasn’t surprised that he didn’t make the big league club out of spring training, but he did harbor a secret desire to make it by June 13. That’s when the Royals are scheduled to face the Detroit Tigers in Omaha, where he had established a massive following with the Storm Chasers.“I’ve been preparing for this moment, all through the minor leagues, up till now,” he said. “I always hear it’s one thing to make it cheap jerseys , it’s another to stay. So that’s what I plan to do.”The Royals haven’t had a player make his big league debut with so much fanfare since Eric Hosmer in 2011. The first baseman was soon joined by third baseman Mike Moustakas, the two buddies forming the cornerstone of teams that won back-to-back AL pennants and the 2015 World Series. The club has similar hopes for Lopez down the road. The Royals sent right-hander Jake Newberry to clear roster space for him, and Yost moved second baseman Whit Merrifield to right field to get him in the lineup. Merrifield has bounced around for most of his career, and his ability to play just about anywhere came in handy.“I thought I worked and turned myself into one of the best second basemen in the world, really. And now it’s best for the team for me to play outfield,” said Merrifield, who led the majors in hits and stolen bases last season. “I’m excited for that challenge. I’m ready for that challenge.“At the end of the day www.thecheapmlbjersey.com ,” Merrifield said, “I’m sick of losing. I really am. We think Nicky is going to make us better and whatever is going to make us better is what I’m ready for.”

Ezekiel Elliott likes to give Todd Gurley credit for the NFL's running renaissance because the Los Angeles Rams star ended an unprecedented two-year drought of backs taken in the first round of the draft. With MVP-type numbers on a team looking like a Super Bowl contender New Orleans Saints Connor McGovern Jersey , Gurley is the best example why it's a good time to be a running back not many years after the position seemed undervalued in what is still considered a passing league."Definitely it's starting to re-emerge," said Elliott, who was the NFL rushing leader as a rookie in 2016 with the Dallas Cowboys. "He was the first one in that draft and then as the years went on, more backs started to get picked and they've all been doing well. I wouldn't take all the credit, but I think it's just a new age of backs."And an age of young backs. Gurley went 10th overall to the Rams when they were in St. Louis, followed five picks later by Melvin Gordon to the Chargers when they were still in San Diego. Now both backs are in LA.Elliott was the first of two straight rookies to win the rushing title, followed by Kansas City's Kareem Hunt last season. Among the top 10 rushers this season, eight are 25 or younger. That's still not getting to New York Giants rookie Saquon Barkley , the No. 2 overall pick and highest back taken since Reggie Bush went second in 2006."I guess I kind of did start the first-round thing again," Gurley said. "But those guys are great players. They put themselves in great positions to be where they are at today, and you see why they are having success in the NFL."Elliott got a top-four thing going when the Cowboys drafted the Ohio State star fourth overall in 2016. Now there have been three straight years with a back taken at least that high: Leonard Fournette fourth out of LSU the year in 2017 Cheap Connor McGovern Youth Jersey , then Barkley from Penn State this year. The other top 10 running back over the past three drafts also illustrates one reason runners could be in vogue: their ability as pass catchers. Carolina took Christian McCaffrey eighth overall out of Stanford last year, even with the perception he might be a third-down back. Now McCaffrey has a respectable 111 carries for the playoff-contending Panthers while ranking fourth among running backs with 49 catches."A lot of times teams that had a feature back, he was considered the first- and second-down guy, and then they put in a little scatback to be the third-down receiver," said Buffalo general manager Brandon Beane, who had a hand in drafting McCaffrey while with Carolina. "Well, now, you're getting these guys that can do it all."Hunt and Barkley have made it back-to-back seasons for rookies to start their careers with six or more straight games of at least 100 scrimmage yards. Barkley's run ended there, but now he's at seven of his first eight games despite another miserable season for the Giants (1-7).Hunt started his career with seven straight last year 鈥?the first rookie to do that since Kevin Jones for Detroit in 2004.Not that multipurpose lead backs are a new thing."I don't think anyone's ever matched how Marshall Faulk produced in the passing game, and that seems like 8 million years ago," Cowboys offensive coordinator Scott Linehan said of a back who was the 2000 NFL MVP in the middle of three straight years with at least 1 Youth Mark Ingram Jersey ,300 yards rushing and 800 receiving.Oh, and Faulk was the second overall pick in 1994."I just think of these guys have been doing this stuff in this league for years," Linehan said. "I think people probably targeted them because they're the best with the ball in their hands."Gurley is well on his way to his first rushing title with 868 yards; leads the NFL with 16 touchdowns, including 12 rushing; and has a chance Sunday against Seattle to become just the fourth player with at least one TD in each of the first 10 games. The others are all Hall of Famers. The former Georgia standout has a 162-yard lead over James Conner, the replacement for Le'Veon Bell in Pittsburgh when Bell decided to stay away from the Steelers rather than play under the franchise tag.Conner's emergence also shows the depth of the 2017 class 鈥?even with Fournette missing all but two games with a hamstring injury after rushing for 1,040 yards and nine touchdowns as a rookie for a team that reached the AFC championship game. The second-year group has two of the NFL's top three rushers in Conner and Hunt, who have almost 1,400 yards and 16 rushing touchdowns between them, while Hunt has another six receiving TDs.The versatility of 2017 Offensive Rookie of the Year Alvin Kamara helps quarterback Drew Brees in one of the NFL's best offenses in New Orleans. Dalvin Cook (Minnesota) and Joe Mixon (Cincinnati) are expected to play leading roles in their respective run games. And forget for a moment about the draft. Another second-year player, Matt Breida in San Francisco, is ninth in the NFL with 531 yards rushing after going undrafted. Denver rookie Phillip Lindsay is sixth at 591 after not getting selected."A lot of times there's a lot of backs in the draft Mark Ingram Jersey Stitched ," Washington coach Jay Gruden said. "You might be able to get one that's close in the second round, but you won't get that left tackle who's a star in the second round or that defensive lineman or that outside 'backer or that corner."There's a different kind of renaissance with the Redskins: an "old" guy leading the way. Adrian Peterson, the 33-year-old three-time league rushing champ, has helped Washington to the NFC East lead by ranking fifth with 604 yards."I don't think that position's ever been devalued," Gruden said. "I think you look at what Zeke's done and you look at some of the other young running backs, Le'Veon Bell, and what type of impact they can have on your football team."We're learning that right now firsthand with Adrian Peterson. Even though we didn't draft him, obviously, but the impact these backs can have on your football as far as running game, controlling the clock and then the play-actions. It's big time."It's been big at draft time recently as well.AP Sports Writer John Wawrow contributed. Two "Ups" and two "Downs" from the game."The Saints officially have the #1 seed in the NFC meaning the road to the Super Bowl in the NFC goes through New Orleans.Still, it was a roller coaster of a game to get there Youth Marcus Davenport Jersey , with plenty of “Ups” and “Downs” along the way. Here are a few that stood out:Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY SportsUp: the winIt wasn’t the prettiest win, but it still go the job done. With the Saints asking the defense to make one more play to seal the win, Sheldon Rankins and PJ Williams were able to do just that and force a fumble from JuJu Smith-Schuster to seal the game. The Saints relied on Drew Brees and the offense to give them the lead, and then asked the Saints defense to hold it with under a minute left in the game. Both sides of the ball were able to get the job done late, and that’s why the Saints have the best record in the NFL right now.Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY SportsUp: Ted Ginn JrIt was nice to have Ted Ginn Jr back, suited up for the Saints, and he made an impact in his first game back.It was reported that Ginn would be on a pitch-count against the Steelers, but he made the most of his limited snaps, none bigger than a huge 25-yard conversion on a 3rd and 20 late in the game. It’s hard to pinpoint exactly what impact his presence had on the returned success of Michael Thomas and Drew Brees, but it’s far from just a coincidence.Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY SportsDown: OfficiatingIt’s important to be consistent and point out poor officiating even when it benefits the Saints. Here, it is absolutely clear the Saints were gifted a touchdown based off a phantom defensive pass interference call against Joe Haden early in the game. Most of the rest of the calls were understandable Marcus Davenport Jersey Stitched , even if respective fanbases didn’t agree. Haden was absolutely guilty of defensive pass interference against Michael Thomas later in the game. Andrus Peat was absolutely guilty of a hold. Eli Apple’s defensive pass interference call was questionable, but it felt like the typical “make up call” (I hate those, but that’s a rant for another day) based off the earlier Haden call. It is what it is, but the DPI called with Alvin Kamara in the end zone swung early momentum. But after multiple calls and challenges of the catch+fumble+recovery not going the Saints week in recent weeks, it was at least nice to see NFL referees make the call consistently on the Michael Thomas non-fumble.Chuck Cook-USA TODAY SportsDown: Saints secondaryAfter playing well the past few weeks (and for the first half of the game against the Steelers), the Saints secondary really struggled for much of the second half of the game.It is rare for a team to be facing off against two Pro Bowl caliber wide receivers like Antonio Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster, but if the Saints want long-term success in the playoffs, they will need to play more like Weeks 14 and 15, and not the second half of Week 16. But here’s to the Saints having two weeks to make those adjustments.

They spend a lot of time together after all. Many believe that it’s critical for teams to be closer than that. In an ideal world a football team is a family, these are players that fight for one another on a weekly basis for goodness sake. This hasn’t seemed to be a problem for the Dallas Cowboys over the last couple of years. You’ll remember that last summer a handful of leadership council members went on a fishing trip together, with it finally being warm enough to hit the water it looks like they’re at it again.Left to right: Tyron Smith, Joe Looney, Jason Witten, Travis Frederick Youth Larry Allen Jersey , La’el Collins, Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott, Jeff Heath, Zack Martin, and Connor WilliamsTyron Smith on InstagramObviously Jason Witten is back in the fold and is a leader on the team Larry Allen Jersey Stitched , the group keeping him young is fun to see. It’s also worth noting that Joe Looney is now part of the contingent. What he did for the Cowboys last season was enormous and his prominence has clearly grown. You want to know what else sticks out about the group photo? Connor Williams got big. It’s interesting that this would surface on the day of the 2019 NFL Draft due to it being the almost one-year anniversary of Williams joining the team, and when he did so it was obvious then that he was going to need to beef up. The beef is there. Here’s to hoping the Cowboys have a fun time wherever they’re headed. Togetherness is always a good thing. Jason Witten heard the criticisms of the Monday Night Football broadcasts last season. Unlike many players who try to say they don’t read or listen to what is being said about them, Witten said clearly that he absolutely heard the feedback of the ESPN broadcasts as he paired with Joe Tessitore and Booger McFarland.“Nobody’s immune to it, regardless of how much mental toughness you have,” Witten said on Dual Threat with Ryen Russillo. “That was one of the things I kind of prided myself on as a player for 15 years. I could handle the big stage. … Certainly, I took a beating. I’m aware of it. To say like Youth Bob Lilly Jersey , ‘Hey, you didn’t pay attention to it.’ Bullsh–. Everybody’s aware and if you’re not, you’re lying to me to say you’re just immune to it. Probably everybody outside of Bill Belichick and a handful of others that just don’t really care what’s being said.”Witten elected to come out of retirement and return to the Cowboys for a 16th season this spring. He reaffirmed that his decision to return to football had nothing to do with the criticism levied against their broadcast crew. Instead, he just really wanted to play football again. However, that doesn’t make the criticism sting any less in retrospect, especially when he believed the grouping had made significant strides throughout the season.“The toughest part was you finish calling a game and whether you’re flying back that night or going back to the hotel I would check my texts and it was like they found out I was sick or something or somebody died in my family Bob Lilly Jersey Stitched ,” Witten said. “‘Hey, praying for you. Keep your head up. Don’t worry about it.’ I’m like my gosh it wasn’t that bad, you know. … I wasn’t immune to it. It sucked going through it at times. Once the narrative kind of got formed, I knew that it was going to be a long-game approach.“And I thought as the season unfolded when Boog moved up to the booth I thought we had two or three really good games and we were starting to kind of hit our stride. I didn’t make this decision off of the noise and the criticism. That wasn’t why I made this decision it was really just I want to play. The scoreboard matters and I want to be a part of that.”
